Q150 mosaic

Q150 mosaic, mounted on wall in RNA pavilion

Queenslanders have spoken – through visual art – about what they believe represents their past and their future in this historic 150th birthday year of Queensland.
Their individual contributions have resulted in a legacy artwork, a 40sqm mosaic, that provides Queenslanders with a visual snapshot of quintessential Queensland.

Never before attempted, this magnificent piece of art is by Queenslanders for Queenslanders, and makes for compelling viewing.

It’s a project which inspired communities across the State, celebrating the rich diversity of regions represented by almost 70 councils.

To participate in this legacy artwork, Councils tapped the creative talent of local artists and youth in their regions for tiles that represented the past and their vision for the future.

They took up the challenge with gusto.

The result is an invaluable mosaic that is worth far more than words.
